MRO Americas 2017 will host aviation maintenance education through the MRO University program. This year, all classes are held on Monday April 24th at the Orange County Convention Center before the full show is underway. Each course is $425, discounts are available for students and government employees. The courses cover Safety Assurance Systems, Suspected Unapproved Parts, and Safety Management Systems.
Safety management systems exist to put strong emphasis on getting buy-in for proactive safety process from the entire organization and mitigating safety hazards. This course covers how to set SMART safety goals, creating emergency readiness programs, and promoting safety management system programs. MROs Aviation professionals that complete the training will receive a certificate of completion.
Unapproved parts are entering the aviation system, requiring constant attention to detect and determine next steps. This course involves how to identify suspect parts, determining part status and airworthiness, and how to report unapproved parts. The instructor will also speak about problems with unapproved parts and their impact on flight systems. The identification training is provided by a former FAA Suspected Unapproved parts Flight Standards manager. The course provides 50% of the 16 hour Inspection Authorization meeting requirements.
The FAA compliance philosophy is the framework for how the FAA administers regulatory activities. The course will educate attendees on how safety assurance systems and data collection tools affect MROs. The core principles discussed will be how to identify environment hazards and control risk. Aviation professionals that complete the training will receive a certificate of completion.
