The 2017 NEO Manufacturing Symposium is a daylong conference focusing on current manufacturing topics. The symposium is scheduled for Friday September 29th in the Spitzer Conference Center at Lorain Community College. The event is hosted by the Cleveland Engineering Society and the Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network. Anyone interested in manufacturing education and networking is wecome to register.
The morning begins at 7:15am with networking and breakfast. The Keynote Presentation will be led by Ben Marker (General Manager, Riddell). A total of six workshops are available to choose from, attendees can participate in two. Lunch and time for networking are provided after the workshops. The event concludes with a tour of the Riddell facility in North Ridgeville.
The 2017 NEO Manufacturing Symposium workshops offer education on talent development, cyber security, operational excellence, diversification, successful product development, and the state of manufacturing in Ohio. Registrants may have a difficult time choosing from this list.
Workshop #2 will have Joe Compton (Principal, Risk Advisory Services, Skoda Minotti) on the panel. Joe was one of the highest rated presenters at the Innovate Manufacturing Technology Conference that took place September 12th. The session will give attendees actionable tips to reduce vulnerability.
Workshop #4 focuses on process improvement. Everyone is familiar with the term continuous improvement, but it can be hard to get everyone at the company on board. The Operational Excellence workshop will feature the stories of how two companies improved performance. Featured speakers include Matt Sinclair (Senior Growth & Innovation Advisor) and John Hattery (Growth Advisor) from MAGNET.
The Riddell facility tour is open to the first 80 registrants. Riddell is a widely recognized manufacturer of football attire. The company began in the 1920s with the removable cleat and created the first plastic football helmet in 1939. One of the latest advances from the company is the Head Impact Telemetry System that records impact data.
The 2017 NEO Manufacturing Symposium exhibit will include multiple companies that are part of the Northeast Ohio manufacturing industry. e2b calibration will have a table at the event.
